​Mild steel is at the lower end, price wise, but will be the default choice for many large-scale projects, for which it is ideal. Galvanising and powder-coating give mild steel protection against corrosion.

Stainless steel offers the ultimate in corrosion resistance and, for certain industries, no other material will do.

The light weight and pliability of aluminium suit some jobs very well, especially when aluminium is anodised.
